MAHS

Teams were organized to measure the vessel remains, record diagnostic attributes, and conduct still and video photography.   One team laid a baseline atop the three-timber keelson and triangulated positions of 15 surviving frames and other forward hull parts.

The bow section totaled 42 feet in length, with frames and portions of ceiling planks present to about 30 feet (Frame 15).   Missing ceilings allowed several floor timbers to be plotted as they passed between the keel and keelson. The single-timbered keel measured 12 inches wide and 16 3/4 inches thick at Frame 15, ending with a scarf joint that began 38 feet from the bow and ended at 42-plus feet.
