MAHS and the Floating Drydock HM Bermuda

MAHS

The Bermuda Maritime Museum and volunteers from Earthwatch conducted preliminary research into the history and present condition of the drydock beginning in 1986.   In 1992, Gould led a team from the Bermuda Sub-Aqua Club in an initial mapping effort.   Poor weather inhibited progress, however, allowing them to generate only a preliminary site map.

In 1993, MAHS volunteers worked to fill in important gaps in the drawing.

Brilliant blue skies heralded fine weather during the field season, and the volunteers were able to fulfill the goals of the project for the year and enough additional work to make further seasons unnecessary.
