While increased exposure of the vessel has revealed some extraordinary finds, it also subjects fragile parts of the wreck to
rapid deterioration and eventual destruction.
Again under license, SeaDive successfullly
retrieved one of the cannons that was found still in its gun carriage. The cannon was placed in a secure, submerged location in
Ramsgate harbor pending conservation. Experts from the Tower of London have indicated that it is the only the gun
and carriage combination of its kind known from that period.
