BERMUDA
The French Frigate
L'HERMINIE

In the end, a segmented baseline that turned several angles along its length was chosen as an alterntative.   The line essentially zig-zagged across the debris field finding the most central path relative to the visible features.

The major features at the site were documented, mapped via trialteration and drawn in detail.   Among the features recorded were several cannons, the anchor, the galley floor (seen in the image to the left), and the large windlass-like mechanism.   The site was also extensively documented using still photography and video imagery.

After being plotted relative to the baseline via trilateration, features such as this large cannon were fully documented
