Return to the Upper Wicomico River

MAHS

The plan looks a little lopsided, and we thought at first that some of our measurements were incorrect or the plotting algorithm that we used to generate the map had introduced some error.

But re-examination of the photograph below, taken in February when the sediments were visible, indicates that the vessel does seem to be slightly unbalanced.   While the hull may be listing somewhat to the starboard side, the keelson members and centerboard trunk appear to be straight.   It is possible that without support from the upper portions of the frames and the cross members that were attached to them, the starboard side of the hull has collapsed outward farther than the port side resulting in the unbalanced look.
